The Bible-The Cell Analogy

The Bible is an amazing book. When I was trying to decide how to present this analogy to you I asked many people for their advice.  I would like to present to you a rough draft of what we came up with…

I have learned that I need to study to know more how God uses His word  in our lives to help regenerate spiritual life.. From my favorite author, who says the Bible supports life by converting the soul, making wise the simple, rejoicing the heart and enlightening the eyes. I see the creative power there is in it by looking at John 1:1, 2 and 3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made by Him” This explains the control center of the Bible as being Jesus, the incarnate Word of God, so lets say that is the nucleus.

And then with the verse we all love and have memorized, John 3:16, lets say that the love of God is the mitochondria, the powerhouse of energy we get from Jesus. God's love and sacrifice inspires us to love and sacrifice.

So we see that it is Jesus who supplies the commands for us to follow and the strength or energy to obey through his love. What then is the ribosome of the scripture, the way that it feeds our spiritual life? I would present you the verse in 2 Timothy 3:15-17, where it says that from a child Timothy had know the scriptures and that it was the inspiration of God to teach him, guide him and nurture him into becoming a renewed person in Christ, our righteousness. By reading the scriptures our spiritual cell is fed.

The lysomes then that protect the cell from harmful substances and other dying influences would be the work of the spirit. As we read the Bible, it convicts us of sin. Romans 1:20 for the invisible things are seen…and John 16:7-13 Jesus said when he left the comforter would come and he would reprove the world of sin, and righteousness, and judgement and that he would guide us into all truth.

The spirit then manifests itself in the fruits of the spirit which come by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. By surrendering for God to be in control of our lives we then can feed upon the fruits of God's spirit. So looking at the golgi complex as the spirit of God. These are the storehouse of the word of God, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God, you are fed as you seek to be fed by his spirit. “Thou shalt call me thy Father” acknowledge and be led by the nucleus.

The word of God is filled with the very presence of God. We are his people and the sheep of his pastures, enter into his gates with thanksgiving. It is the very breath of God that is the cytoplasm of the cell, “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on the face of the earth…that they might seek the Lord if happily they might feel after him and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move and have our being.” Acts 17:26 and 27

The plasma membrane is also like an outer layer than holds everything together. It is like the previous thought that the word is the life of God and it is the life of God that holds our spiritual life together. It is when we enter into his gates that we are protected. It was like King David in Psalms prays “ I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord, Our feet shall stand within thy gates” The word of God introduces us to His city of life.

What then are the vacuoles, the little storage pockets of the cytoplasm? I love Psalm 119, it is so full of good thoughts. It says in verse 10 and 11 that our hearts are the storage receptors. They hold the salt of the word. With our whole heart we seek him and hide his word in our hearts. That is the way we protect them from evil thoughts taking over.

Last but not least the endoplasmic reticulum, the organelle that helps manufacture the food. These are the cells who have more of the rough er to manufacture protein and those that have more of the smooth that manufacture fat.. I had a hard time understanding what part of the Bible these would be and then thought of the fat of the land. And because these work with the golgi complex and the cytoplasm that these are the rewards of following the word of God. The word of God provides us a land flowing with milk and honey. And one of my favorite verses Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy..” “My words were found and they did eat them” Jer. 15:16
